Zebra, Pearl & Albino Danios (Danio rerio varieties)
The Zebra Danio and its colourful variants — Pearl Danio and Albino Zebra Danio — are among the most popular and hardy freshwater fish. Originating from the streams and rice paddies of India, Bangladesh, and Nepal, these small, fast-swimming fish are known for their active personalities and peaceful schooling behaviour. Zebra Danios display striking blue and silver stripes, while Pearl Danios have a soft pinkish-pearl sheen, and Albino Danios feature a pale golden body with red eyes. All thrive in cooler, well-oxygenated water, making them ideal for unheated community tanks.
