The Black Neon Tetra is a striking freshwater fish, featuring a sleek black body contrasted by a bright silver-blue stripe running horizontally from eye to tail. Native to the Paraguay and Paraná river basins in South America, it’s a peaceful, hardy fish that adds elegant contrast to community tanks.

• Water Parameters: pH 6.0–7.5, soft to moderately hard water

• Temperature: 22–26°C

• Tank Setup: Well-planted aquarium with dark substrate and gentle lighting to accentuate its contrasting colors

• Diet: Omnivorous; accepts flakes, micro-pellets, and occasional live or frozen foods such as daphnia or brine shrimp

• Schooling: Best kept in groups of 6 or more to display natural schooling behavior and reduce stress

• Temperament: Peaceful; compatible with other small, non-aggressive species
